Call for Papers for the Undergraduate Students’ Conference “Smart Collaboration: Searching for Innovative Patterns and M

Latvia - China Academic Exchange Centre of the Department of Political Science at the University of Latvia is pleased to announce the call for papers for the undergraduate students’ conference “Smart Collaboration: Searching for Innovative Patterns and Methods” to be held at the Department of Political Science, University of Latvia from 27 to 28 November 2019. Deadline for submission of papers November 10.

We welcome submissions for individual papers that should address but are not limited to: smart urban development; collaboration for smart urban planning; smart infrastructure solutions; smart communication; sustainable economic solutions; smart governance; smart global collaboration initiatives; EU – China future cooperation.

Papers can be submitted via e-mail to by 10 November 2019. The text of the abstracts should be submitted in English ONLY, in a separate Word document in the following format: max. 1500- 2000 words, 1.5 line spaced Times New Roman, 12-point font (except for title which should be 14-point font), A4 size page formatting, with the page margins of 2.5 cm from the left, top and bottom and 2 cm from the right. 

Eligible papers will be accepted for participation in the Students Conference on 27 November in the University of Latvia, Riga, Latvia. A special commission will evaluate student presentations. Online presentations are also welcome. During the students conference the authors of three best papers will be identified. They will have a chance to give a speech in the International Symposium “Seeking Smart Governance for Smart Cities” held by the Latvia – China Academic Exchange Centre on 28 November and to be published in the conference proceedings. This volume will be released online and in printed version.

We encourage lecturers, teachers and professors to circulate this call widely across your undergraduate students from relevant areas, such as, but no limited to Politics, Sociology, Environmental Science, Geography, Economics and Management, Communication Science.

There is no Registration Fee! Unfortunately, Latvia - China Academic Exchange Centre has no available funds for covering transport and accommodation to/in Riga. Participants are responsible for securing funding to cover transportation and accommodation costs during the whole period of the conference.
