 Department of Political Science Strengthens Ties with Universities of Ukraine

In April Lecturer of the Department of Political Science Sigita Struberga had a visit in Kiyv. It was realised within the project “Training program of Ukrainian young professionals in University of Latvia – Spring School “EU studies – internal and foreign affairs”” financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

In April Lecturer of the Department of Political Science Sigita Struberga had a visit in Kiyv. It was realised within the project “Training program of Ukrainian young professionals in University of Latvia – Spring School “EU studies – internal and foreign affairs”” financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

Her visit had a number of aims. First, Ms. Struberga participated in international conference in the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiyv which was organized by university’s Institute of International Relations. Participants of the event tried to find out eventual oportunities within different cooporation framworks with Asia as well as to formulate own interests. Sigita Struberga delivered a speech “Chinese Public Diplomacy: New Prospects for Cooperation with Eastern European Countries”. Second, she gave an open lecture for the participant of state- sertificed course “Informational Security” in the Boris Grinchenko Kiyv University.

No less important aspect of her visit were discussions with the representatives of universities on such issues as prospects of further collaboration between the parties. Special attention was payed to further development of the participation of Ukranian students in Spring Schools realized by the Department of Political Science.
