Riga Summer School 2018 Welcomes Applications

Call for applications for participation in Riga Summer School 2018 is now open. The Department of Communication Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Latvia organizes this international summer school for students from all over the world in the Latvian capital from August 5 – 18, 2018, focusing on “Content Production for Digital Media”.
Some scholarships are available for students for participation in Riga Summer School 2018.
The application deadline is 23:59 on May 21, 2018.

The eighth edition of Riga Summer School will feature lectures and workshops on creating stories for digital media channels such as interactive media, social media and mobile platforms. In addition, the participants of the Riga Summer School will have an opportunity to work in small creative teams on their own creative multimedia projects on the topic of “Latvia Celebrates 100 Years”, as the year 2018 is the centennial of Latvia and there are many initiatives to mark this date taking place throughout the year. The summer school will also contain a rich social and cultural program for all participants in Riga and other locations in Latvia.

The participation fee for the Riga Summer School is 500 EUR, including tuition, accommodation in student residence, local travel and meals. Participation fee should be paid after receipt of confirmation on your acceptance into the program, which should be expected by the end of May. The transportation to and from Riga, Latvia is not included in this price. Information about scholarships can be found on the Riga Summer School website.

We are expecting applications from undergraduate and graduate level students of media, multimedia, communication studies and other related disciplines. The main criteria for selection will be student’s interest in the subject and motivation. We encourage motivated students to look for scholarship opportunities at their home universities and other organizations supporting education.

All interested students are invited to apply until May 21, 2018 via online application on Riga Summer School website. Detailed information and the electronic application form, as well as films and photos from previous years are available on Riga Summer School Facebook page and wesbite.
