Students Invited to Take Part in The International Symposium “Latvia- China relations: New Pace, New Opportunities”

Students are invited to take a part in a competition of presentations related to the Latvia- China relations as well as such issues as current problematics of Latvia and China internal and external politics. The final of the competition will be held on 22th November. Authors of the best presentations will be rewarded. The winner will have an opportunity to give a speech during the symposium in 23th November

This year is distinguished by a number of important anniversaries. Latvia is celebrating 100 years of its sovereignty. In terms of Latvia - China relations it is also significant that 20 years ago the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia opened its doors in Beijing. Five years ago Xi Jinping, the President of the People's Republic of China, announced his initiative, now well known as Belt and Road initiative, to boost win-win cooperation between different countries, which was later specified within the framework of 16+1 cooperation. On this occasion the Department of Political Science in a cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing symposium Latvia- China Relations: New Pace, New Opportunities. The symposium will be held in 22th- 23th November.

Students are invited to take a part in a competition of presentations related to the Latvia- China relations as well as such issues as current problematics of Latvia and China internal and external politics. The symposium will bring together academics and practitioners, who are working to promote Latvia-China relations on different levels. The aim of the symposium is to discuss the possibilities of increasing the existing direct contacts and set up the vision for the further cooperation on building bridges between two friendly nations - Latvia and China.
